Jennifer L. Walden, M.D., F.A.C.S., became in 2022 the first female president of The Aesthetic Society, the leading professional organization in cosmetic surgery — a historic appointment that recognized both her clinical standing and her decade-long presence as one of the field's most visible and credible voices. A salutatorian graduate of UTMB, she completed a fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital before establishing Walden Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center in Austin, Texas, where she has built one of the Southwest's most recognized independent practices. Newsweek named her among its Best Plastic Surgeons in four distinct categories in 2021. Her scope encompasses the full range of breast, body, and facial procedures, with a practice philosophy centered on natural results, patient education, and the kind of informed consent process that treats surgery as a serious medical decision rather than a consumer transaction. She remains one of the most academically active surgeons in the field, contributing regularly to peer-reviewed literature and continuing education.
