About Dr. Lee

John S. Lee, M.D., arrived at plastic surgery by one of the field's more unusual routes — through dental school. A graduate of Columbia University's College of Dental and Oral Surgery before completing his M.D. at Columbia's College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Lee brings to the operating room a rare fluency in the architecture of the face: the bones beneath the skin, the balance of dental midlines, the structural logic that separates a harmonious result from one that merely looks altered. His surgical residency took him to UCLA Medical Center for general surgery, followed by plastic and reconstructive surgery training at Oregon Health Sciences University. He entered solo practice in Portland in 1999, building a reputation for natural-looking results over more than two decades before relocating his practice in 2017 to a purpose-designed facility in Beaverton, where NW Plastic Surgery now operates out of a fully accredited, in-office operating room. He speaks English and Korean and sees patients from across the greater Portland metropolitan area, the broader Pacific Northwest, and beyond.
