Michael A. Apa, D.D.S., trained at NYU and was among the first graduates of NYU's undergraduate aesthetics program — a curriculum he would later help establish, becoming an assistant clinical professor in the department and a senior clinical instructor for the Aesthetic Advantage continuing education program. His professional formation was shaped by an early mentorship under Dr. Larry Rosenthal, one of the founding figures of American aesthetic dentistry. After joining Rosenthal's practice as an associate in 2004, Dr. Apa became a partner and, in 2014, sole proprietor — before expanding outward to build Apa Aesthetic into a multi-city, internationally recognized practice with offices in New York, Beverly Hills, Dubai, and Miami. The recipient of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry Award for outstanding performance in his first five years of practice, he maintains a philosophy of restraint: results that read as naturally beautiful rather than obviously treated. His Facial Aesthetic Design approach considers the smile in relationship to the entire face — proportion, symmetry, harmony — rather than treating the teeth in isolation.
